The contemporary open-plan interiors are stylish and bright promoting the get-away-from-it-all feel. The relaxing, neutral colour scheme is balanced with beautifully framed window & balcony views of the park and the river. The white satinwood finish to doors and woodwork is applied as well as high-gloss white kitchen cabinetry and pure white bathroom porcelain and ceramic tiling. There is underfloor heating throughout as well as fully integrated Siemens and Smeg kitchen appliances. On the ground floor of the block is a dedicated bicycle storage.

Why:

The location is an oasis of calm as this section at the southern tip of the Ilse of Dogs.  It's well protected from the Canary Wharf mania and rage thanks to the vast expanses of Millwall Park to the north, and the waters of the Thames to the south. Once on a south facing Calders Wharf apartment balcony, looking over the river, the eyes rest on the awesome classical Christopher Wren’s architecture and the great Greenwich Park in its background. Canaletto, the renowned 18th century Italian artist, stood on the same spot, allegedly, which inspired his View of Greenwich Hospital c. 1750-52. The painting could be seen at the Queen’s House, Greenwich with the curator’s comments: “If you go and look over the Thames from the Isle of Dogs today, you’ll see that comparatively little has changed from Canaletto’s image”. All in all, this riverside location is a real gem making this boutique development by Telford Homes an envy of Canary Wharf.
