On 18th March 2020 the UK government brought in the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020, effective from 1st June 2020. The standards were to apply to all new tenancies starting from 1st July 2020 and to all existing tenancies from 1st April 2021.
