Spotlight on Battersea Power Station

Destination on the rise: Battersea Power Station

Circus West Village, at the Battersea Power Station development, has been hosting various sport competitions, arts exhibitions, live music events and street food festivals. The next event taking place at the development is the Ultimate Power Ballad Disco for Bonfire Night on 4 November ’17. Just a few days after the River Bus from MBNA Thames Clippers started running regular services from the new pier at the development! Amongst current retailers at Circus West Village are: Wright Brothers - seafood restaurant experts; Vagabond Wines – the London wine specialist; Mother – an Italian pizza restaurant and the Battersea general store offering a selection of finest global produce.

The iconic Grade II listed building is undergoing a £9bn revamp and is at the heart of a dynamic neighbourhood delivering thousands of new homes. Once complete, the area will boast new housing, parks, restaurants, a new pier and a new Northern Line Underground station. The Battersea Power Station development has received contributions from two great, visionary architects: Lord Norman Foster and Frank Gehry.  So, we expect apartments, penthouses and townhouses of unique design styles soon to be available to buy or rent within this development.

The first phase of the development, Circus West, which is set around the western side of the Power Station, is now nearly complete with 300-plus residents already moved in. The next phase to complete is the Battersea Roof Gardens by Foster + Partners, delivering a two-acre communal roof garden designed by Field Operations, creators of New York’s High Line linear park. The Flower, a block of flats designed by Frank Gehry, and incorporating titanium shell gives an extraordinary appearance of a crumpled blossom - is due to complete in 2020.

The Battersea Roof Gardens, designed by Foster + Partners, will deliver one of London's most expansive rooftop green spaces with stunning views that cover the Power Station and stretch out to the Thames . The roof gardens will occupy the top of the entire building, while the two floors immediately below include exceptional penthouses providing dual-aspect views of the surrounding area.

A short distance away from the development is the new U.S. London Embassy building due to complete later this year. The Embassy cube is a centre piece of Embassy Gardens, another big development emerging nearby. Both developments, Battersea Power Station and Embassy Gardens are involved with the Nine Elms Vauxhall Partnership created in 2010 to coordinate and drive forward the transformation of an entire district on the south bank of the Thames.
