Keybridge, London SW8

Keybridge in Vauxhall, London SW8 is a new homes development by Mount Anvil set in an impressive regeneration project on the south bank of the Thames in London's travel zone 1. Keybridge is also part of the new Nine Elm district emerging within the former industrial land between Vauxhall and Battersea.

Designed by Allies and Morrison architects (Aldgate Place, Two Fifty One, Grosvenor Waterside, Good Luck Hope, Glasshouse Gardens, Highbury Square etc.), the development comprises residential tower blocks, mansions and maisonettes, plus commercial space and a park. Also, within the site are a primary school and the historic St Anne and All Saints Church.

A distinctive appearance of the development where various tones and textures of brick are used in each building is owed to the traditional British mansion block’s appearance which inspired the architects. Keybridge thus stands out from other, predominantly glass and concrete clad new builds, emerging in this south London area.

Buildings within Keybridge are: Keybridge Lofts, Keybridge Point, Keybridge Capital, Keybridge House and Keybridge Gardens.

On the ground floor of Keybridge Lofts is the main concierge plus other communal amenities: the mezzanine level has the residents’ club, and the fitness facilities are housed in the basement of this building.

Keybridge completed in March 2021.

The development is the winner of prestigious Housing Design Awards 2022.

Key elepments of the development for which the award was received: "Keybridge’s architecture: a typological ensemble, mixing traditional typologies like Mansion blocks with new ones like tall buildings, sensitively into the existing historic fabric. The project combines high density with great openness. A third of the site is open, public space.  Truly mix use: workspace, residential uses, a school, retail and then bringing into the composition a existing pub and a existing church. Provides space for a much-needed extension for the local school with new classrooms, play space, large multipurpose hall and ancillary spaces incorporated into a hybrid building."

Apartments

There are over 470 new apartments, in a variety of types and forms, arranged in six individual buildings grouped around the new public space and park. Keybridge Capital is the sixth and final building with 125 residences.

The apartment interiors are contemporary inspired by the trendy industrial theme and spacious warehouse living with plenty of metal accessories and fixtures in black steal, cooper, bronze and concrete grey.

The Keybridge residences are generously sized and mostly with a private amenity space such as balcony or a terrace extension. Most of units, especially the upper floor apartments, have been designed to be double aspect allowing high levels of natural light in,  as well as wide area views out.
