Elephant and Castle Elephant Park with Castle Square SE17

Elephant Park SE1 & SE17

Elephant Park is a large residential development, part of a complex inner city regeneration taking place in Elephant and Castle, London SE1. Located in Zone 1 & 2, the development is ‘one of the most sustainable inner city urban regeneration projects’ delivering a modern south London neighbourhood. The new district aspires to be Climate Positive and is one of 19 schemes worldwide signed up to the Clinton Climate Positive Development Programme. The master plan centres around a large communal park (Phase 1 is open) with over 11 acres of additional green spaces such as pocket parks, gardens, green roofs, green walls, and tree lined streets. Elephant Park has an extensive tree planting and conservation plan aiming to save over 120 matured trees from the previous estate and to distribute over 1,000 new trees within the district and the surrounding neighbourhoods. New homes at Elephant Park are built as energy efficient dwellings and use 30% less water than the average London home. Once complete, Elephant Park will have approx. 3,000 new homes arranged in five distinctive and interconnected neighbourhoods: South Gardens, West Grove, West Grove Square, East Grove and Park Central/ Park & Sayer. Elephant and Castle district is already an established commercial and transport hub, to which the development will contribute with over 50 new shops, bars and restaurants.
